At ACHS, governance is further facilitated by the ACHS SchoolManagement Committee (SMC), ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.

This committee comprises educators, parents, nominated members from the society’s general body, as well as esteemed educationists and philanthropists.

The school boasts robust academic leadership, engaging in regular consultations with external experts to develop curricula and assessment frameworks. Quality audits and reporting mechanisms are periodically conducted to uphold academic standards and ensure continuous improvement.

Our journey

Asian Christian High School (ACHS) traces its roots back to a modest start in 1996, with just 225 students enrolled from Lower Kindergarten to class I. Over the years, our school has evolved into a comprehensive institution, now accommodating over 3500 students from Kindergarten to class XII.

The inception of Asian Christian Academy of India dates back to 1978 when it was registered as a society, with the Dr. Isaac John serving as the founding President, Dr. Joy M. George as Secretary, and Rev. Richard Sackman as Treasurer. Following Dr. Isaac John’s passing, the mantle of leadership was assumed by Dr. Joy M. George, who earnestly prayed for guidance in carrying forward the vision of the academy.

In 1994, Dr. Joy M. George envisioned extending educational opportunities to economically disadvantaged children in the community, laying the groundwork for what would eventually become Asian Christian High School. Under the leadership of Mr. Bobby John, the inaugural principal in 1996, strong community relationships were fostered, setting the stage for the school’s growth.

The affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education as an English medium Co-educational school was a significant milestone achieved under the tenure of Mrs. Rita Reddy, the second principal, in the year 2000. Despite initial challenges, including conducting classes in  makeshift spaces, the school preserved, eventually constructing the Academia Block and establishing over 100 classrooms equipped with modern amenities like smart boards.

Following Mrs. Rita Reddy’s close to a decade-long tenure, Mrs. Teresammal Robi assumed the principalship in 2007, ushering in a period of continued growth and expansion.

In 2013-14, the school was elevated to Senior Secondary level, offering various streamsincluding Mathematics, Science, Commerce, and Computer Science. The introduction of the Compartment System in 2012 further streamlined academic processes, with dedicated staff members assuming roles as Compartment Heads and Department Heads.

In 2023, Mrs. Teresammal Roby retired from her principalship, transitioning into an Emeritus position focusing on our Centre for Teaching Excellence. Mr. Sijumon K G, who was the Vice Principal from (2013-23) has been promoted to assume the role of principalship from (2023-24) to lead the school in the pursuit of excellence. Throughout our journey, ACHS has remained committed to providing quality education to all students, including those with learning disabilities, through our Special Education Department, which offers tailored individual Education Programmes and support services.

As we reflect on our journey, we are grateful for the resilience and dedication of our faculty and colleagues in administration units, the unwavering support of our community, and the guidance of our good Lord, that has propelled us forward. At ACHS, we remain steadfast in our mission to nurture and empower every student, regardless of background, to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.
